Formula for the Perfect Smoothie

Have you ever wondered what the heck to put in a smoothie to make it perfect? We aren’t just talkin’ nutrition, but also DELICIOUSNESS!

Well, I’ve done the thinking for you, and if you choose any combination of these items, you’re bound to have a tasty and nutritious sip!

Here’s my (not so) secret formula to win every time!

  1. Choose 1-2 bases: frozen cauliflower, frozen banana, avocado, dates, frozen mango, frozen cucumber or zucchini (trust me, it’s not gross)

  2. Choose 1 liquid: pure coconut water, full fat canned coconut milk, almond or another clean nut milk, filtered water, hemp milk

  3. Choose 1-2 greens: spinach, celery, kale, arugula, greens powder

  4. Choose 1-2 fruits: organic frozen mixed berries (or any organic frozen berry on their own) citrus fruits, frozen cherries, mango, pinneapple, frozen peaches, etc.

  5. Choose 1-2 proteins: plant-based protein powder (my favourite is Organifi, save 10% using this link) complete spectrum collagen powder, an animal based protein like Designs for Health

  6. Choose 1 fat booster: 1 tbsp of nut or seed butter, MCT oil, 1 tbsp of flax oil, if you haven’t already added coconut milk or avocado, that can work great too

  7. Choose a superfood or two: maca powder, matcha powder, chaga mushroom powder, lion’s mane mushroom powder or tincture, raw cacao powder, ceylon cinnamon, Bison Organs (use code ROOTSANDFRUITS to save here!)

  8. BLEND AWAY & ENJOY THAT SMOOTHIE OF YOURS!

Having an epic blender is most of the battle - thanks to Vitamix, I am no longer going to be exposing my family to microplastics while making smoothies, because I just ordered their gorgeous stainless steel container. Can’t wait to get blending with it!

I’m personally stoked to get rid of even more plastic from our life with this innovative container from Vitamix. Plastic are known to disrupt the endocrine glands in a substantial way. No wonder there’s so much hormone imbalance amongst young women these days!
